形態特徵

• Wetland herbs, mostly perennial. Roots fibrous.
• Leaves narrowly linear, laterally flattened, acuminate, striate when dry, margin minutely papillose; sheaths keeled.
• Peduncle terete or subterete. Heads subglobose. Basal bracts elliptic, emarginate, papillate along upper half of midrib, with 4 lateral veins. Median bracts broadly elliptic, narrowed basally, with 5-7 veins, outer veins usually curved, papillate on and deltoid apically, apex spinulose, the thickened midrib dark brown, margin light brown, membranaceous. Lateral sepals curved, membranaceous and hyaline, 4-6 mm long, 1.4-2 mm wide, acute or subacute, keeled, narrow, usually serrulate on upper margin, unequally tapering toward base. Median sepal hood-like, ca. 2.5 mm long, thin hyaline, lveined, obtuse. Petals 3-veined. Stamens ca. 0.4 mm long, 0.1 mm wide, inner cell of thecae longer than outer ones, obtuse; connective with membranaceous wing. Staminodes 2-forked, penicillate, ca. 4 mm long. Ovary obovoid, 3-sided, ca. 2.5 mm wide; styles trifid.

• 台灣 : emergent herbs in marshes and in wet sandy soils.
